Mother’s Day
This was my first Mother’s Day without our sweet girl, Tiki. This exact time last year, I knew of her health diagnosis and was just grateful to be present with her for what I knew would be my final holiday ever with her. Yesterday I actually didn’t think much about it since I was focused on the plans I made for the day.
I had a wonderful afternoon with family celebrating my mom and sister. The two most important women in my life are the truest forms of mothers, those who have known struggle, sacrifice and strength. Those who continue to push through and kick down any crap standing in their way. I get my determination and grit from them. Our mom’s motto since we were kids is “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” My sister’s approach to challenges is that if she is scared to do something, she pushes herself to do it and conquer it.
Be like a cat and kick litter over that shit and move on. Here’s to all you kick ass women! I miss you so much, Tiki. You were the strongest kitty I ever knew and it was an honor to be your mama.
